Letter Drafter: LLM Powered

Why?

It is always better to have a cover letter for each job application, but no one wants to write it, why not let AI to help me out?

How?

Utilizing the power of LLM and as a way to learn OpenAI Chat Completion and Spring AI, I have quick created a prototype of a drafter for my cover letter as I am trying to land my COOP Position.

Challenges

Learning the REST API with Spring Boot, controlling the temperature and max token while guiding the gpt-3.5-turbo to respond with the desired content

Tech I have used

Computer Number System Converter

Why?

I never understand how to do a radix conversion, it helps me to learn the number system in computer science.

How?

I was hard for me to understand the number system in computer science, so I have created this application to help me to understand the concept by step by step between conversions.

Challenges

Using both Functional and OOP to achieve the conversion using recursion and handle some case in string as well as integer.

Tech I have used

Distributed Synchronized Timer

Why?

Created for a cafe in Montreal as part of the project from CleverPay(Clove Pay vendor)

How?

I have picked Firebase to enable the real-time synchronization with websocket and manage frontend state with onMount and onDestroy to avoid memory leak and accuracy. The timer is distributed and synchronized across multiple tablets.

Challenges

The synchronized a distributed timer required find the right technology, and utilizing the server's time and offset because everyone needs to be on the same page.

Java HTTP Server

Why?

I always wonder how to create a HTTP server without other packages and accidentally learnt how to write a custom logger and mini router.

How?

I googled this question and learnt from some blogger by understand BufferedReader, Socket, OutputStream

Challenges

Learn from scratch by googling and learning about the Socket API, figuring out how BufferedReader and OutputStream works and return HTTP headers
